Analicemos ahora la historia del monstruo del Lago Ness y veamos si arroja algo de luz sobre el asunto. El primer caso registrado de un avistamiento de una criatura misteriosa en el lago data del a\u00f1o 565 DC cuando el misionario escoc\u00e9s\/irland\u00e9s, S. Columba, predicaba el cristianismo a los pictos nativos de la zona. <\/p>\n\n<p>La historia probablemente no era sino una par\u00e1bola para mostrar el poder de la iglesia de los cristianos. Se dan avistamientos de un pez grande en el siglo XIX y a principios del siglo XX, y es en 1933 cuando la historia pasa a formar parte del dominio p\u00fablico a nivel mundial tras darse a conocer una serie de avistamientos y fotograf\u00edas. La foto m\u00e1s famosa, la de un cuello elegante sobresaliendo del agua, result\u00f3 ser falsa, aunque ser\u00e1 para siempre el s\u00edmbolo del monstruo del Lago Ness. <\/p>\n\n<p>Estudios cient\u00edficos han demostrado que la fr\u00eda temperatura del agua y la falta de provisi\u00f3n de alimentos, impedir\u00eda a los animales de cuello largo vivir en estas aguas. <\/p>\n\n<p>Por lo tanto dichas fotos muestran aves buceadoras, o bien se trata de alg\u00fan error o incluso embustes. La gran mayor\u00eda de los avistamientos son de una joroba, por lo que podr\u00eda tratarse de criaturas muy grandes. El sonar (navegaci\u00f3n por sonido) confirma que se dan contactos fuertes en la profundidad de las aguas que es el dominio de los peces y no el de aquellos animales que necesitan aire para respirar.  Lamentablemente, todas las pruebas que se han recopilado son err\u00f3neas, falsas o dif\u00edciles de interpretar <\/p>\n\n<p>Una de las sugerencias apunta a que se hubieran introducido esturiones en el sistema fluvial; el esturi\u00f3n puede llegar a vivir siglos y adquirir proporciones inmensas. El r\u00e9cord mundial se sit\u00faa en 8,3 metros de longitud y m\u00e1s de 240 a\u00f1os.
