El trabuco de Gorrie estaba lleno de perdigones y clavos. Permaneci\u00f3 escondido y esper\u00f3 a que el duque estuviera dentro de su campo de tiro.   <\/p>\n\n<p>Desafortunadamente para Gorrie, no era buen tirador y el tiro no fue certero. Corri\u00f3 a refugiarse en su cueva inmediatamente y los Casacas Rojas que le persegu\u00edan, le perdieron de vista en cuanto se adentr\u00f3 en el brezal.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Su mujer y la gente del pueblo le tra\u00edan v\u00edveres y as\u00ed consigui\u00f3 permanecer escondido en la cueva durante varios meses hasta que los Casacas Rojas abandonaron la b\u00fasqueda.
